Attacks on healthcare providers are a war crime

over 750 healthcare providers have been murdered by the israeli occupying forces. this is a war crime. there were previously 36 large hospitals in gaza. there is only one left that can manage patients with major trauma, and even this has been intentionally damaged. the healthcare system has been systematically destroyed. this includes the largest hospital – shifa hospital in gaza city. healthcare workers are targeted. doctors, nurses, paramedics and orderlies have been murdered. sometimes this is by bombing hospitals, ambulances and health centres. sometimes this is by bombing homes. sometimes, healthcare workers are shot at point blank range by israeli occupying soldiers. doctors, nurses and paramedics are kidnapped and held illegally in israeli prisons where they are tortured and sometimes murdered. this happened to orthopaedic surgeon adnan burscht who died in captivity.

these are all war crimes. the israeli occupying forces make excuses by claiming that weapons were fired from hospitals or that there were bunkers under hospitals. this has never been substantiated, and when similar claims were made about lebanese hospitals, the independent press immediately visited and were able to debunk these lies. war crimes should result in the cessation of arms sales. the international community has failed to uphold their own law, as arms have continued to flow to israel to allow them to continue the genocide.
